A view of the city skyline from across the lake.W e are so glad you have chosen to come to our amazing city. Austin benefits from the best Texas has to offer: centrally located and part of the Texas Hill Country, we have scenic landscapes and beautiful weather. We have booming economic growth and a robust tech and software industry. We are a hub for education and government activity. We have the best music, restaurants, shopping, festivals, parks and lakes. The list goes on and on.

Of course, Austin wouldn’t be what it is without our public servants: those people who work as everyday heroes to make our city, and our country, a safe and wonderful place to live. We have therefore dedicated this year’s issue of Celebrate Austin to those who serve our communities and country in areas including military, law enforcement and fire.

Our publication is organized into many helpful sections; its purpose is to provide you with enough in-depth information to make the most of your time exploring Austin and the surrounding Hill Country and to make you feel like a local.

The Shopping, Arts, Dining, Nightlife, Kids, Lake Travis, Sports, Historic Sixth Street, Newcomers, Tour Austin and Day Trippin’ sections will get you going in the right direction with the latest on where to dine, shop and enjoy the rich culture of Austin.

Austin is one of the friendliest cities in the world, so if you want to find out where the locals go, ask anyone on the street. They’ll have some great secrets to share with you; they might even take you there. After all, the satisfaction from knowing an area intimately is why those of us who live here choose to do so.

Again, welcome to Austin. Enjoy your time here, tell your friends about us and hurry back.

Sincerely,

The Celebrate Austin Team
